New Zealand

I’m adventurous and when it comes to travel, always ready with a backpack. In 2017, I visited New Zealand. One of the best things about New Zealand is that because it is such a small country, it’s so easy to get into the food and wine culture. It provides the perfect excuse to eat your way across the country. These are the must try foods to create the perfect New Zealand tasting list. These all can be enjoyed at different places.

  1. FEDERAL DELICATESSAN – AUCKLAND

This is a New York style café restaurant is situated in the center of the city and has the best delicacies to offer. Their fries with gravy are their USP, which means the flavors are very intense and people love coming back. Offer various Sandwiches also.

  1. FERGBURGER – QUEENSTOWN

The famous Burger café in town which serves variety of burgers and fries. Not only café but bakery also which caters scrumptious bakery delicacies. Best is the almond croissant. One should not miss that. All the products are freshly baked and hence make the taste even more tempting to visit back again.

  1. BAKERIES

There are many family run bakeries and others too but one has to stop by for the freshly baked breads, Croissants, Pavlova and mince pie.

  1. FISH AND CHIPS

Before leaving the country one should not miss Fish and Chips, the best in the world. Considering that the country is surrounded by sea and thus fresh fish and seafood is available everywhere at all times.

  1. LEMON & PAEROA

World famous in New Zealand (since ages ago) and typically known as L&P. The soft drink is named after a small town Paeroa located at the base of Coromandel Peninsula. Some kiwis swear by this drink to help cure a hangover.

  1. PAVLOVA

New Zealand food list wouldn’t be complete without this classic Meringue topped with one’s choice berries and of course kiwifruit.

Despite what the Aussies say, kiwi’s created the pav a long time ago!

  1. WINE AND BEER

New Zealand has the best wines in the world. The climate and flat and fertile soil makes for awesome grapes growing. There are many wineries throughout the New Zealand, and most of the supermarkets have local wines for pretty reasonable prices. Brews the best quality beer in the world. Many breweries are opened across the country. One should try wine and beer before leaving the country.

NIGHT MARKETS                                                                                                                                      Nights markets are located in many different places where the locals can enjoy mouthwatering food, latest fashion trends, beverages,toys and a lot of  interesting sights and smell to tempt the senses.  these markets cater to all age groups.

  2. SAL’S PIZZA

Sal’s Pizza is a chain of Italian restaurant. They make fresh handmade dough and get their ingredients fresh. The freshness in their Pizzas is worth the money and wait.

  1. HOKEY POKEY ICE CREAM

A kiwi Classic is the Hockey Pockey Ice Cream, made by combining fresh vanilla and honey comb pieces. Best eaten in a cone. One should try New Zealand’s top brand Tip Top, finest. Simply loved the flavours.

  1. FAT DOG CAFÉ & BAR – ROTORUA

Café serves breakfast, burger and New Zealand main dishes.
